Clean:
- Before applying Dark Shine, ensure your tires are clean and dry. Unlike a traditional tire dressing, Dark Shine is a tire sealant system that bonds to the tire surface.
- Use a tire/wheel cleaner such as Titan Chemistry's Non-Acid Wheel Cleaner along with a tire brush to remove dirt, grime, and previous product buildup for optimal adhesion.
- Repeat, for the best results repeat this step until all previous/old dressings, grime, and/or oils are removed from the surface. The tire surface should be as clean as possible for Dark Shine to be able to bond directly to the tire surface.
Dry:
- Once satisfied that the tire surface is thoroughly clean, proceed to dry the tire to make sure no moisture remains prior to application.
Apply:
- Using a foam or microfiber applicator pad, apply a small amount of Dark Shine and spread the material onto the application surface.
- It is best to perform this in a small thin layer rather than a thicker layer at once. Dark Shine will dry and cure, best to make sure no high spots or droplets remain.
- Multiple thin layers are advisable and achieve the desired look based on the number of layers. Please allow each layer to cure for a few minutes before applying the next layer. 1 layer = dark matte finish, 2 layers = semi gloss/satin finish, 3 layers = deep wet gloss.
- Allow final layer to cure 10-15 minutes before driving away. This will allow Dark Shine to cure and ensure no material slings onto an undesired surface.
- Avoid getting material onto rim surfaces and any paintwork!
Clean Up:
- It is recommended that a disposable applicator pad is used as remaining Dark Shine will cure in the pad. Applicator pads can be reused if promptly washed with clean water.
Aftercare:
- Dark Shine can be expected to last up to three months if properly applied.
- General care and maintenance to refresh the appearance is water and car soap during the regular washing process.
- If a refresh coat is desired, simply repeat the preparation and application steps for the desired look.
